Poetry: The Sound of Women of the Land and Sea

The Sound of Women of the Land and Sea: Voices of Indigenous, Garifuna, and Campesina Women from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras is a poetry collection
written in Spanish and indigenous languages by women who participated in a series of radio, gender and communication
workshops with COMPPA; it includes original artwork and photography. In
these poems, women share their dreams, fears, joys, and struggles; they show how poetry
can liberate one’s inner voice and be used as a tool for self-determination and resistance. Every word bursts with the force of a breaking wave, releasing the sound of women of the land and the sea.
